Platte Valley Bank Opens Tiger Branch
Tiger Branch of Platte Valley Bank opened its doors for the first time October 1, 2019 at NBC Elementary and October 3, 2019 at NBC Middle School. Business is limited to savings deposits for North Bend Cental students in grades K-8. The branch is modeled after highly successful bank-in-school projects at several other elementary schools in Fremont, Lincoln and Omaha. The student branch is staffed by Platte Valley Bank employees as well as 5th graders and FBLA students that completed job applications, participated in face to face interviews and attended job training. Students that participate as depositors will learn about the economic concept of saving early, see that savings should be a part of their personal financial plan for the future, and gain knowledge of how to properly endorse checks, fill out deposit slips, maintain a transaction register, and gain experience counting money. Written parent permission must be received in order for students to participate. To find out more information about the program and for the permission form click here.
